Discover the winners of the Agir IN Seine-Saint-Denis 2023 call for projects supported by the International Observatory on Violence against Women
This is the fifth edition of the call for projects Agir IN Seine-Saint-Denis. This year, a new category of actions dedicated to violence against women here and there!
One of the goals of the “Territories protecting women victims of violence” programme is to raise awareness both in Seine-Saint-Denis and abroad of the urge to combat violence against women. This involves working with international solidarity associations and diaspora women committed to fighting violence against women.
Within this framework, a new category of actions dedicated to violence against women here and abroad has been included in the “Appel à Agir” funding call for projects.
Through this call for projects, the Department of Seine-Saint-Denis supports local actors working in innovative ways in 3 priority areas: New Solidarity, Ecological Transition and Civic Engagement. The “Fighting violence against women here and there” category is dedicated to projects that aim to:
- Prevent violence against women;
- Protect women victims of violence and their children;
- Build capacity to combat violence against women by training professionals to identify, refer and support women victims;
- Supporting advocacy and awareness-raising campaigns to inform people about their rights, while working to improve the law.
The special feature of this category is that it is aimed at associations in Seine-Saint-Denis that work with the diaspora and wish to carry out an international project there. The projects funded promote women’s rights and combat violence against women.
This year, 3 association projects have been selected as part of the new actions dedicated to violence against women here and there!
– Women and Promotion of Behaviour
Project name: Fighting violence against women in the Commune of Ngaba and the silence surrounding this issue
The Women and the Promotion of Behaviour association fights violence against women, particularly domestic violence, in France and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project aims to create the first reception and counselling centre for women victims of violence in the commune of Ngaba – Casa Kimia (house of peace). A multidisciplinary team of midwives, psychologists and legal experts will be on hand to welcome, listen to and guide the women.
– Stars of Auber
Project name: Peace and security for our women and girls here and there
The aim of the project is to set up an awareness-raising campaign on sexual violence against women and girls in the Comoros. The Stars of Auber association is organising an awareness-raising tour of villages in the Mbadjini region, in the south of the Comoros. In Seine-Saint-Denis, the association will organise a film-debate in November 2023 to raise awareness of these issues among the Comorian diaspora.
– CCFD – Solidarity Earth
Project name: Joint action to combat violence against women, Antioquia and Seine-Saint-Denis
In partnership with the Corporación Vamos Mujer in the department of Antioquia (Colombia), CCFD is proposing to create a network of international allies to join forces in the fight against violence towards women. The project aims to strengthen the individual and collective capacities of actors in the two territories to contribute to the fight against violence towards women here and there, by supporting training activities and setting up awareness-raising initiatives.
